Brief History
Hello there, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m the fellow in the front there, the one who would never stand still for the family portrait. I haven’t changed much since 1967; only I’m usually behind the camera now instead of in front of it.
Oh, and I’m taller.

I was given my first camera a few years after the above photo was taken, when I was 8 years old living in Bellingham, Washington; an old box camera my grandmother used in her younger days. I studied art and photography in high school becoming, by my senior year, the Feature Editor and Photographer for our school newspaper.

I continued studying art in college, showing work in Washington state and then moving to New York City where I worked in a gallery on Broadway showing and selling my artwork. Jumping forward five years I had taught myself how to use computers and was working at Fitness Magazine as their Art Production Manager.

After a few years I went out on my own providing graphic design and web development services to all kinds of companies large and small including BP, Columbia Sportswear, Microsoft, and The PGA Tour. As digital photography matured I began offering clients my own original photographic imagery instead of stock photography. Since then I have pursued photography personally as well as professionally, covering weddings, modern dance, live music, landscapes, and portraiture.
My wife and I have recently moved to Kansas City where her family resides.
